# Commenting on Other Users' Social Posts

> Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok limit comments to posts on your own connected accounts, while Bluesky, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube use their own reply rules.

Social networks have restrictions on commenting functionality to prevent spam and abuse. Here's what you need to know:

1. On Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, you can only comment on, or reply to comments on, posts that belong to your own connected social media accounts/pages. These can be posts you or others published on your account/page.
2. On these platforms you cannot comment on posts from other users' accounts or pages, or reply to comments on those posts, even if you have the post ID or comment ID from the social network. Again, the social networks have this restriction to prevent spam and abuse.
3. This is a limitation enforced by the social networks themselves (especially Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram) through their official APIs.
4. Even if you try to cross-post a comment, e.g. on Instagram, it will only appear under your own posts, not other users' posts.
5. On Bluesky, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, Ayrshare does not block replies to comments on other users' posts. Whether a reply succeeds depends on that network's rules and the post's reply settings.

These restrictions are security measures implemented by social networks to prevent automated spam commenting through APIs.

Please see the [Comments API documentation](https://www.ayrshare.com/docs/apis/comments/overview.md) for more information on how to comment on a post.
